B-E6MG-agentpants-carries-a-dead-types-bun-the-same-workaround-zoo

apps/agentpants/src-nuxt/package.json declares "@types/bun": "^1.1.14" as a devDependency. Nothing in the app uses it.

  • Its six test files under apps/agentpants/src-nuxt/tests/ all import from vitest, not bun:test.
  • A repo grep for bun:test under apps/agentpants/src-nuxt returns nothing.

The dependency almost certainly arrived for the same reason zoo’s did: the @determined/ui layer used to leak its own bun:test file into every consumer’s type program, and @types/bun was the cheapest way to make the resulting error go away. T-ROYV-design-language-layer-consumer-hygiene removed the leak at the layer and deleted zoo’s copy, proving it was dead there by moving node_modules/@types/bun aside and re-running the typecheck clean. agentpants was left alone in that change only to avoid widening its blast radius.

Delete the dependency and confirm apps/agentpants/src-nuxt still typechecks. Zoo’s removal is the worked example.

Worth doing rather than ignoring: this is the second copy of the same dead workaround, and the third rediscovery of it. Left in place it will be found again by whoever next reads a lockfile and wonders why a vitest project depends on Bun’s types.
