B-K3TQ-agentpants-list-name-column-starved-by-fixed-columns

The entity list tables truncate every row’s name to one or two characters while the rest of the frame sits empty. Found while capturing the appearance screenshot matrix; visible in apps/agentpants/docs/screenshots/ skills-default-{light,dark}.png and workflows-default-{light,dark}.png.

This is a layout bug, not palette debt. It is tracked separately from T-APNC-design-language-agentpants-palette-burndown, whose findings section noted it and asked for its own entry.

Taken from app/pages/skills/index.vue at the 1440x900 capture viewport, with the selection pane at its default width.

  • PANE_CONFIG.selection.defaultWidth is 420 (app/config/panes.ts). With px-4 padding the row’s content box is roughly 389px.
  • The fixed columns consume roughly 384px of that: tags w-32 (128) + updated w-28 (112) + two w-8 action buttons (64) + five gap-4 gaps (80).
  • That leaves the flex-1 min-w-0 name/description cell about 5px, measured between 5 and 35px depending on route.
  • min-w-0 is already present on the name cell, so the usual flexbox min-content floor is not what is squeezing it.
  • Not viewport-dependent. The selection pane is a fixed default width, so a wider window does not help; the pane keeps its 420px.
  • Not mode-dependent. Reproduces identically in light and dark.
  • Not pane state. usePaneLayout.ts persists nothing and defaults every pane to collapsed: false, so this is the out-of-the-box layout.

A zero-width truncated cell reports as hidden to Playwright, so toBeVisible() on a row name fails even though the row rendered. The capture spec works around this by gating on attached instead. Fixing the column should let that gate go back to a visibility check.

Shrink or drop the fixed columns at narrow pane widths, give the fixed columns percentage rather than absolute widths, or raise the selection pane’s default width. The same row shape recurs across the other entity list pages, so whatever lands should be applied consistently.
