B-P70M-cm-table-widget-has-no-table-styling

State: closed/abandoned

A markdown table rendered in the live mode of the editor has no cell borders and no cell padding, so a header row reads as MilestoneOwner Status with the columns run together. The same table in reading mode is drawn correctly.

.cm-table-widget carries no table styling in obsidian-editor/src/theme.ts or in any consumer stylesheet, and the .obsidian-md table / th / td rules of the reading view (obsidian-md/src/theme.css) cannot reach inside the editor, because they are scoped to .obsidian-md and the editor has no ancestor of that class. Same root cause as the --obsmd-* scoping entry filed beside this one, and quite possibly the same fix.

More conspicuous since the blank band around the HTML-built widgets was removed in #1700: the borderless table now sits flush against the lines above and below it.

Pre-existing on main, not a wave-1 regression. The pre-migration notes.css carried no .cm-table-widget rules either.

Evidence, under .sdlc/orchestration/markdown-editing/handoffs/04-wave1/evidence/notes/: live-light.png and live-dark.png.
