B-5675-nested-lefthook-configs-are-dead
apps/agentpants, apps/pumice, apps/ontological-legacy and solutions/ontological/desktop each carry a lefthook.yml with pre-commit eslint, oxlint, prettier, clippy, rustfmt, typecheck and commitlint commands. None of them runs.
lefthook dump at the repo root lists none of those command names — the root lefthook.yml has no
extends: and lefthook does not auto-merge nested configs. None of the four directories is its own
git root either, so there is no checkout from which they would take effect.
Consequence: the per-app staged-file eslint/oxlint/prettier gates have never run for anyone, and neither has commitlint. Whatever those hooks were meant to catch has been caught only by CI, or not at all.
Two ways out: delete them as misleading dead config, or wire them in (lefthook supports extends)
and accept the pre-commit cost. Worth deciding alongside the oxlint/biome evaluation, since it
changes what a linter swap would actually affect locally.
PR 1669 dropped md from their prettier globs for consistency, which is cosmetic while they stay
inert.
