Prettier reads a multi-line {/* ... */} MDX comment as markdown emphasis and escapes the
asterisks, rewriting {/* to {/_ and */} to _/}. The file then does not parse:
[@mdx-js/rollup] Could not parse expression with acorn.
Reduced to a minimal case and reproduced on prettier 3.9.6, 3.8.3 and 3.6.2, so it is longstanding
rather than a regression. Single-line {/* */} comments are unaffected — 26 .mdx files carry those
and format fine.
Exactly one file in the repo has a multi-line one: packages/ts/waypost/docs-site/src/content/docs/index.mdx. It is the root .prettierignore’s only entry (added in PR 1669) with a comment pointing here.
Next: file upstream against prettier if no issue exists, then drop the ignore entry when it lands. Alternatively convert that comment to single-line form and drop the entry now.
