  • Verifies a changeset against every instruction file (CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md) and pluggable rule-source provider whose scope encloses the changed files, dispatching one headless judgement per source.
  • Selection is set intersection over declared path scopes, not a tree walk: a source proven irrelevant to the changeset costs nothing.

A repository’s rules live scattered across nested CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md files and a standards corpus, read while code is written and forgotten by commit time. This capability finds every rule source whose declared scope encloses a changed file and runs one isolated, headless judgement per source over exactly the files it governs, then merges the results into one ordered findings list. It runs as a library (verify()) or as the dfv CLI, judging uncommitted work, a diff range, or a whole branch.

What it provides

  • verify() library API plus a dfv CLI (judge uncommitted work, --base <rev>, --dry-run cost preview, --blocking exit code, --json output).
  • Pluggable RuleSourceProvider discovery; ships one provider (instruction files) by design, so other corpora (e.g. an SDLC standards provider) register externally without this package knowing they exist.
  • Scope intersection via @sksizer/intersect decides which sources a changeset touches; wide sources are sharded (maxFilesPerJob) into smaller per-slice jobs re-merged to one row per source.
  • Findings are schema-validated and rejected if they cite a file outside the judging source’s own scope.
