  • One shared Rust backend that serves the Determined vault API to every product over Tauri IPC and Axum HTTP.
  • Hosts the Tauri shell runner and a headless platform-server binary.

Statement

Section titled “Statement”

Every Determined product calls the same API implementation. The desktop shell reaches it over Tauri IPC with no auth. The web address reaches it over Axum HTTP, optionally serving a built SPA, and a token guards mutating requests when one is set. The crate holds the process-wide AppState and wires domain crates (notes, index, polish, fitness, media, ocr, backup, photos, git, agent, agent-skills) behind generated ops. Ontogen generates the entity store, both transports and the TypeScript clients from the platform schema plus the fitness API and core wire types. src/backend.rs picks Node, Rust or Shadow per capability from DETERMINED_BACKEND_<CAP>, then settings, then the default. The default-on vault-index feature gates determined-index and its bundled FTS5.

What it provides

  • run(context): Tauri shell entry that each product binary calls with its own context
  • http_app: Axum router with SPA fallback and token check
  • platform-server: headless binary serving the same API
  • AppState: store, jobs, services, engine URL and repo root
  • Vault watching, workspace registry, openers, polish monitor tray, backup schedule
  • Backend selection per capability (src/backend.rs), with node sidecars and engine and connector proxies for the Node arm
  • Ontogen-generated store, IPC and HTTP transports and TypeScript clients
