Leveled workflow-authoring kit
State: open/planned · Kind: module · Audience: system
Summary
Section titled “Summary”- The leveled TypeScript kit for authoring workflows that compile to the work-runner engine’s DAG format: pipe (L0 composition), llm (L0 agent step), workflow (L1-L2 tasks/blackboard/runner), dag (L3 parallel dispatch/fan-out), durable (L4 journaled resumable runs).
- Authors only, never executes; the engine runs the compiled DAG, not user code, and flowline carries no SDLC entity.
Statement
Section titled “Statement”Flowline is how a human or agent writes a workflow the work-runner engine can run: a typed
TypeScript API, callable a level at a time, that lowers in-code definitions to the engine’s
plain-JSON DAG contract at the boundary. It is currently a scaffold - five subpath entry points that
each export nothing yet (export {}) plus a smoke test asserting the modules load - while the
roughly 1,800-line working spike stays parked on origin/consolidate/workflow-library-full pending
the settled contract (B-QAHU, resolved into D-VSLI).
What it provides
Section titled “What it provides”- Five leveled entry points: flowline/pipe, flowline/llm, flowline/workflow, flowline/dag, flowline/durable, plus a barrel flowline.
- A lowering step compiling in-code workflows to the engine’s DAG format.
- Journaled-run ergonomics on the authoring side (once L4 lands).
Underlying implementation
Section titled “Underlying implementation”- packages/ts/flowline/ (scaffold shell; per-level logic pending)
- Parked full implementation: origin/consolidate/workflow-library-full
