T-78U0-backup-app-manual-verification
State: planning/draft · Impact: medium · Complexity: small
M-E9UU closed with its UI flows unchecked in the packaged app. An agent could not capture or drive the real window. A person needs to click through the installed app once and record what works, so the open criteria can be ticked or turned into bugs.
The installed app was launched with a Finder-style environment and took a snapshot. Nobody has clicked the first-run vault picker, Back Up Now, the history, restore and Undo, or Show in Finder in the packaged window. These criteria are open:
- T-EUTY AC-2: first-run vault gate and native picker.
- T-EUTY AC-3, Back Up Now half: it is ticked, but T-EUTY’s completion note says Back Up Now was not clicked in the installed app. Only the schedule half was seen.
- T-EUTY AC-5: settings shows the store path, and Show in Finder opens it.
- T-O5FY AC-1: the e2e suite passes in the determined e2e run. CI has not run because GitHub Actions is blocked by billing.
- M-E9UU: “Launched from Finder on a machine with no checkout, the app asks for a vault and backs it up.”
Proposed
Section titled “Proposed”A person runs this checklist on the installed app and records the result in this task:
moon run product-backup:install-desktop, then quit any running copy.- Make the app forget its vault: move aside
~/Library/Application Support/com.sizerllc.family.backup/last-active.json, the backup app’s own cursor into the vault roster. Leave the suite’s sharedworkspace.jsonalone; other products use it. Launch the app from Finder. - The first-run vault gate appears. Pick a vault with the native picker. It becomes the active vault.
- Click Back Up Now. A snapshot appears in the history.
- Edit a note, back up again, open the second snapshot’s changes, and view the note at the first snapshot.
- Restore the note. Confirm the dialog. The toast offers Undo. Click Undo, and the edit is back.
- Delete a note, then restore it from a snapshot.
- Open Backups settings. The store path is shown. Click Show in Finder, and Finder opens the store.
- Quit and relaunch. The vault choice is kept.
Any failure becomes a bug task, linked here.
Approach
Section titled “Approach”- Run the checklist above and note each step’s result and any screenshots in the completion note.
- Tick T-EUTY AC-2 and AC-5 and M-E9UU’s Finder criterion if they pass. Leave T-EUTY AC-3 ticked if step 4 passes; untick it if step 4 fails.
- Tick T-O5FY AC-1 once a CI run of the determined e2e suite passes.

- AC-3: T-O5FY AC-1 is ticked after a passing CI run, or the reason it is still open is recorded.
