T-AGQH-rewire-the-skill-file-consumers-onto-the-converted-vault
State: closed/done · Impact: high · Complexity: large
A long tail of code and docs reference sdlc’s skill files by their
pre-cutover skills/<name>/SKILL.md shape: the skill-prose gate’s
pattern registry, invariants.yaml, the corpus-invocation gate,
audit_skill_runtime.ts, the docs-site generator, harness install/
project doctor, and the skill test suite. Once every SKILL.md
becomes a <name>.md vault note, every one of these consumers breaks
unless rewired in the same PR.
Each consumer above hardcodes (or pattern-matches) the
skills/<name>/SKILL.md path shape and/or reads
.claude-plugin/plugin.json-shaped frontmatter.
Proposed
Section titled “Proposed”Every listed consumer resolves a skill’s file by its new <name>.md
vault-note path (and reads ap-kind/ap-plugin frontmatter where it
previously read the old shape), with no functional change to what each
consumer actually checks — only how it locates the file.
Approach
Section titled “Approach”- Update the skill-prose gate’s file-discovery/pattern registry (
_skill_prose_contract.tsand friends) to look for<name>.mdvault notes instead ofSKILL.md. - Update
invariants.yamland thecorpus-invocationgate’s path expectations to match. - Update
audit_skill_runtime.tsto resolve skills from the new location/frontmatter shape. - Update the docs-site generator’s skill-ingestion step to read the vault-note shape.
- Update
harness install/project doctorto point at the rendered Claude tree the new build produces, per the plan’s own phrasing. - Update the skill test suite’s fixtures/expectations to the new file shape.
- Run the full
checkverb suite and confirm every consumer above passes against the converted vault.
| Area | Note |
|---|---|
solutions/ontological/lib/services/gate/ | skill-prose, corpus-invocation, _skill_prose_contract.ts |
invariants.yaml | Path expectations |
solutions/ontological/ (audit_skill_runtime.ts) | Skill resolution |
solutions/ontological/lib/services/docs/ | docs-site generator skill ingestion |
solutions/ontological/lib/services/harness/ | harness install / project doctor |
solutions/ontological/skills/ (test harness) | Skill test fixtures/expectations |
Acceptance criteria
Section titled “Acceptance criteria”- AC-1:
sdlc gate skill-prosepasses against the converted vault notes. - AC-2:
sdlc gate corpus-invocationpasses against the converted vault notes. - AC-3: audit_skill_runtime.ts runs clean against the new shape.
- AC-4:
sdlc docs generate --checkpasses (the docs-site generator ingests skills from their new location without drift). - AC-5: harness install / project doctor succeed against the rendered Claude tree the new build produces.
- AC-6: the transitional graceful-zero-skills guard added to
check_pipe_tail.ts,check_skill_docs.ts, andcheck_no_legacy_script_paths.ts(landed with T-O0CR to unblock its commit) is removed — each script is retargeted at the new vault-note tree (or retired/replaced by ansdlc <noun> <verb>op-substrate equivalent, matching howproject-check-skill-proseandproject-check-task-state-originwere already migrated per T-WC1T). No transitional shim may survive to the end of the phase.
Out of scope
Section titled “Out of scope”- Changing the actual content any gate/consumer enforces — only its file-location assumptions change.
- The skill-prose rubric itself.
Dependencies
Section titled “Dependencies”- The plugin-files cutover task (the renamed vault notes every consumer here must resolve).
