Definition
Section titled “Definition”A unit of functionality the system provides: an observable ability, described independently of the code that realizes it. It is the node of the capability graph, graded by grain and audience.
Contrast
Section titled “Contrast”Not a task or a milestone. Those deliver or change a capability; the capability is the standing ability. Not a module, which is a node of the structural graph.
Capabilities nest by containment and anchor to code through locations. A milestone lists the capabilities it moves forward.
